More often than not Architects perform the role of Contract Administrator, administering the terms of the building contract by dealing with matters such as contract performance and applications for extensions of time. A critical part of this role is to visit site regularly and perform valuations. These staged valuations are the mechanism for paying the Contractor on the basis of work performed under the terms of the Contract.
